Mission Statement:

RespectED Training and Education is dedicated to providing high quality cost effective personal and professional development training and education.
We will continue to embrace and adapt advances in technology and training delivery to provide services to our clients.

Our Founder:
Paul Norton had a background in management and business development in his native Ireland with both the Xerox and McDonnell Douglas corporations, and from the early nineties in Australia with the New Zealand based Radiola Corporation prior to going into private business in Australia.  During his time as the State Training Services Manager with Uniting Care Cummunity (formally Lifeline Community Care), Paul was responsible for sourcing, developing and delivering a wide range of training products and services as well as the development of new trainers and presenters.

In that role he became acutely aware of the particular challenges of delivering quality training not only to individuals and communities in regional and remote locations but also in cities and larger population centres.

As well as having the privilege of personally delivering the Lifeline Telephone Counselling course, LivingWorks ASIST suicide intervention workshop and DV Alert Family and Domestic Violence awareness workshops, he has been responsible for the development of workshops in a wide range of community service arenas such as, Counselling and Communication Skills, Psychological First Aid, SuicideAware and SuicideAAA and SuicideCCC suicide prevention and intervention workshops, Self injury awareness workshops , Mental Health Awareness. Resilience, Dealing with Difficult interactions, Assertiveness, PsychAware mental Health workshops and the Community Connect program.

Paul has delivered mental health related workshops throughout regional and remote Queensland as well as in Brisbane and larger population centres in both Queensland and New South Wales.

He developed and delivered workshops for State Emergency Services and "000", Dept. of Justice, Dept. of Communities and Queensland Health and the Office of The Federal Attorney General among others. During the 2011 Brisbane flood disaster he organised and trained 135 counsellors from the Australian Counsellors Association (ACA) in three days to work with Qld Dept. of Communities, UCC and the Red Cross at Community Recovery Centres across QLD.

In 2012 Paul completed a Graduate Certificate in Suicide Prevention Studies at the Australian Institute of Suicide Prevention Studies (AISRAP), a World Health Organisation centre of excellence, based at Griffith University in Brisbane. In 2013 he completed a Master of Suicidology Degree where he also received a Griffith Award for academic excellence.

What does all of this mean to our clients and Associates? It means that RespectED Training & Education is passionate about delivering quality training and education.
It is this passion to deliver training and education which endures and was the principal driver behind the development of RespectED Training & Education.

It means that we understand the challenges faced by individuals, commercial and community sector workers.

We understand the difficulties faced by managers and program directors in balancing budgetary constraints with the desire to provide the best quality training and development outcomes for both staff and those we support in the community.
